The Marines are badass. Ok and the army isn't? Do you have any knowledge you'd like to share to help clear things up?

Army. Duh.

Ok but seriously. I will try and put my bias aside as best that I can. First, it depends on the mission. The Marines are a much much smaller force that do not have the support assets that the Army has. This is why they are able to travel with Carrier Strike Groups so that a small force can be deployed quickly just about anywhere. They bring with them amphibious vehicles that the Army doesn’t have as well. HOWEVER, the Marines have no airborne brigades or divisions. While some expeditionary forces are able to strike quickly, the Army’s airborne units are able to be anywhere in the world in 18 hours. I say again, anywhere in the world in 18 hours. Let that soak in.

While the Marines boast their physical toughness or the fact that every Marine is a riflemen first, but Army Infantrymen are just as full of piss and vinegar. We have the same excessive PT standards. We have the same rigorous marksmanship standards. We also arrive violently on the objective. Sadly, I cannot speak for the POGs. BUT, if you go to any airborne brigade or division post, everyone (including POGs) is airborne qualified. They also must maintain a certain number of jumps every month to keep their jump status. That is more than pretty much all of the Marine Corp.

MARSOC does not have nearly as many assets as USARSOC. They don’t have a direct action counter terrorism force nor do they have Rangers. They don’t have unit with the same mission as Special Forces either. I’m not about to compare caliber of Marines vs Soldiers from that community. They’re all several notches above the rest and they’re all really really good at killing bad guys. But when it comes to size, capability, and support, I would put my money on the USARSOC any day of the week.

I will make a few concessions. The Marines got the uniforms down. They were smart to switch over to a digital pattern but kept both a desert and woodland print. UCP was one of the Army’s biggest uniform follies ever. Most of us faceplamed when that announcement came out and avoided ACU’s as long as we could. The Marine Corp dress uniform is sharp as fuck. Like, they even drop my panties.

But no matter how cool the Marines look in their uniforms, it just doesn’t compare to Class A’s bloused with jump boots. Also we have muliticam.
